Human Origin : The X woman project
There are two images.
Image below this passage is of the cave where the right side image elements are found.

Researchers estimate the age of the pinkie bone to be between 30,000 and 48,000 years old. At that time, Neanderthals and anatomically modern humans also lived in that region of Siberia, deep in the Altai Mountains.
Genetic research shows her branch contributed to gene pool of today's Melanesians, who live on a broad arc of Pacific islands. X Woman is helping researchers grasp ancient migration patterns.
This time around, however, the team was able to isolate DNA from the nucleus of cells, allowing for a more robust analysis.

One of the most fascinating discoveries related to the Denisovans is their genetic connection to modern Melanesian populations. The DNA analysis found that genetic material from this subgroup of Neanderthals matched 4 to 6 percent of the genes of some extant Melanesian populations. This means that interbreeding took place between Denisovans and the ancestors of Melanesians at some point in prehistory, similarly to the interbreeding that almost certainly took place between modern humans and European Neanderthal populations.

Team spirit and group cohesiveness have a high survival value for those mammals and primates which have adopted a pattern of group life. Furthermore, the concept of the survival of the fittest among social animals such as man refers less to individuals than it does to breeding populations and entire sub-species. Indeed evolution is concerned not with the individual organism but only with breeding populations, with phylogenetic continua. Evolution involves populations, sub-species and species. Evolution is in no way concerned with the welfare or well-being of any one individual organism except to the extent that the death or survival of that organism may affect the gene pool of the breeding population.

Now come to X woman:
The researchers now estimate that the female, between five and 10 years old, represented a new line of hominin that split some 804,000 years ago from the line that would give rise to modern humans, and split 640,000 years ago from the line that yielded Neanderthals.

With the appearance of some of the Denisovan genes in Melanesians, the team posits that these hominins could have appeared throughout Asia during the Late Pleistocene, a 116,000-year period that began roughly 126,000 years ago.

The results also reinforce the notion that as hominins moved out of Africa and into Europe and Asia, the interbreeding between successive waves of early emigrants and the populations they encountered occurred more frequently than previously thought.

So as the dark side of Africa will come in picture we will able to get more about our origin. How a human being is developed, and of theory "fittest will survive only".

  1. It's all because of human intelligence which made him superior than other species competing for the same in evolution of the life on earth.Human used his knowledge and travelled in search of more possibilities and chances.
Migration was a great activity done by humans which helped him alot in his survival .This article also narrates all about deeds of human to perform positive in "survival of the fittest".

Good summarization of facts.Hopefully i'll see some more posts on the same topic soon.

  2. @ Dinesh Kumar : Human itself a very sound name. article about X woman project itself is not whole definition of human origin. but it is setting up few more points on which scientist and other related organization will work.

The moral of this is that as human is growing with interbreeding. one day the more developed human will also come as a change for survival.
Hope that Africa forest siberia and other untouched places give us some more issues which can provide human origin research a new boon.

Although thanks for reading it..... :Ajay
